Please note guidance for re-opening churches for worship

Worship during the pandemic

Suggestions for worship opportunities and how to help others in worship can be found here, including service sheets to be printed at home. For those Methodists feeling the loss of communion, there is a short act of spiritual communion.


Streamed services

A selection of streamed Methodist services are taking place online. The list of services, produced with current guidelines in place, can be found here.


Re-opening churches 
for 
worship 
 

Some churches in England are able to re-open, under specific guidance. The Methodist Church’s Property team have been working hard throughout the lockdown to produce relevant guidance for Managing Trustees and Ministers based on the Government’s own guidelines here. Beyond Exile, a service to celebrate a return to public worship, can be found here.

Holiday Hunger

Campaign

The school holidays can be a difficult time for some families, when the provision of free school meals leaves parents struggling to put food on the table. This year there is the added impact of Covid-19. The Children, Youth and Family Team, in partnership with the Joint Public Issues Team and Transforming Lives for Good, is encouraging Methodist churches to to help alleviate the problem. Guidelines 

A healthy Christian community is a safe place of mutual care, where all people feel valued, loved and respected. The Methodist Church has updated its guidelines for engaging on social media to reflect those values. You can read the guidelines here.

Green Recovery 

Statement

Faith leaders have called for an environment-focused economic recovery. This statement has been signed by our President, the Revd Richard Teal and Vice-President, Carolyn Lawrence.

Fairtrade 

Nestlé has announced that from October 2020 KitKats will no longer contain Fairtrade cocoa and sugar. Instead, Nestlé is moving to the promotion of its own Cocoa Plan and the Rainforest Alliance certification.
