Multi Faith Webinar

Interfaith logo

We are delighted to announce that we'll be holding another 'multi-faith' webinar featuring members of the Lancashire Forum of Faiths. This will be on Tuesday 22nd Sept, at 6pm, using Zoom as the platform.

This will again be aimed primarily at the Syrian refugees who are living in Lancashire as part of the government-supported resettlement scheme. We know that in their dealings with statutory authorities, the impression is often given that faith / spirituality is not a part of people's lives in the UK. We want to make them aware that there are in fact a variety of faith communities in Lancashire, to explain a little of the history of each in the UK, and a  very brief outline of the beliefs, and the day-to-day practices of these different faiths.

This one will feature Islam and Paganism

Although the session is aimed primarily at our Syrian refugee friends, this will be of interest to a much wider audience. Our two 'faith reps' will talk for 4 - 5 mins about the aspects referred to above, and we will then have a time for open questions to all of them on wider issues such as the impact of the Covid19 pandemic on different faith communities - how dying & death has been dealt with, and some reflection on the significance of an active faith in wellbeing and good mental health. The session will also be recorded.

To book on the event please get in touch with Rebecca Novell, who is the Refugee Community Development Commissioner within the refugee integration team for details of how to join the event RebeccaJoy.Novell@lancashire.gov.uk

Multi Faith Webinar

Interfaith logoJoin us for the latest webinar aimed at supporting refugees in Lancashire which is being held on Monday 28th Sept, also at 6pm, arranged by Preston City of Sanctuary. Many of the refugees, although residents now, have experienced intimidation and abuse, and the intention is to flag up where and with whom they can find support. Be good for them to experience that support directly too via your virtual presence.

More than a Coffee Morning

Coffee

There is an online coffee morning
every Tuesday, 11.00 am for 45 minutes - could this be for you or someone in your church?

What is it like? It's like a coffee morning (although you have to bring your own bring and biscuit!)

How do I give it a try?

If you would like the link to the zoom coffee morning, please email Rob and he will send you the link.
